Except it was a paper bag. :-)
Kitten Kaboodle
Monday, September 13, 2010
We got some cats -- two little boy litter mates all packaged up (shots, no worms, no fleas, socialized, and spayed) and ready to come home. Names: Crazy and Chicken. What did you expect Indiana, Sage and Rocky to name their cats? Fluffy and Coco? Come on now.
Crazy loves Indy, which makes sense because only a mildly insane, fearless kitten would love a rambunctious 5-yr-old. The orange tabby started out a bit, well, Chicken, but has warmed right up and is not letting me work much today for all the purring and cuddling here at the computer.
Pictures!
Here's Crazy. You see it in the eyes, yes?
He hates to sleep but eventually the eyes close on their own.
Indy called Chicken, "The Pretty One"
He's cute too
They say grooming is love. "Hold still. You've got something in your ear."

September = Back to Busy
Thursday, September 9, 2010
I guess the back-to-school vibe is pervasive to all. Sage is having an intense few weeks at SageRock, Indy is getting used to school, and I am getting back to writing.
It's early to deduce, but it seems we made a good choice in schools for Indy. He may just be older now, but he has never talked this much or this fondly about school.
He only has the "what I did at school" conversation once a day (usually at dinner or on the drive home), but the lucky listener gets about 10-20 minutes of news. Yesterday Sage heard the step by step instructions on making bread -- they do this on Wednesdays. Then at dinner we heard all about the "blessing" they give before snack time (yes, Waldorf's are kind of a non denominational parochial school). I heard a long story about nap time silliness with a boy named Sam. And he keeps bringing home pictures that are gifts from other children.
Sage and I agreed last night -- we're not thinking he'll need to be in language therapy this year.

Big boy with new, beloved lunch box
They wear "rain" gear every day in the playground (called the meadow) because it's actually a dew covered meadow, creek, and forest area.
The Meadow
Creek, currently dry
Having fun in one of the playhouses
Troll under the playground bridge
Oh look, a bug!
Goodbye sweetheart
Cue Caroline / Our Alexandra stand in
Caroline's little sister says, "Wait!"
Have fun little ones

Camping!
We love camping with Alexandra. She is the pesto mayo on a fabulous chicken sandwich. She's not technically required, but it's just not the same without her. This time we got Nikki too! It was wonderful. We went to Kelly's Island State Park because Sage and I love the beach there. The town is sweet too. We think it's worth the Ferry ride.
Day one was pancake breakfast, golf cart ride, beach, dinner in town, mini golf, campfire. Day two was just all beach.
