Indy is learning the Art of conversation and is definitely still finger painting. Although he doesn't understand adult chit chat, now that he can converse, he's taken to interjecting what he thinks will be interesting commentary on the topic at hand.
So last night Sage and Grammy are talking about the Gmail class Sage put on that day at work. Sage gets all animated about folder filing and Indy interrupts, equally animated, saying:
"Well, Oh . . . Yes! When there are cones we need the ice cream to have ice cream!"
Indeed we do.
I'm going to let this interruption thing go until summertime. Not just because I find it adorable, but I don't want to squelch his enthusiasm and confidence for being a part of conversation. But come June we're going to start lessons on when interjecting is appropriate. Followed by listening skill lessons to identify topics and relatedness (think SAT). i.e.: Cone is not to Gmail. Computer is to Gmail like Cone is to Ice Cream.
