What's Wrong With That Kid?

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Indy has been really interested in watching this video and talking about it. He had just turned one in this clip and like all one year olds, he was a moody little bastard that went from gleeful to tearful in two seconds flat. This is fascinating to my now somewhat rational son.

Indy initially wanted to know what Rocco had done to poor baby Indy.

Indy: Did Rocco bite him?
Rocky: Uh, No. You just got sad about something.
Indy: Did the balloon break?
Rocky: Nope. Baby Indy cried a lot. He couldn't talk.
Indy: Is he sad?
Rocky: Sort of.
Indy: Why's he sad?

After having this conversation 10 times, I finally satisfied him with this explanation:

"I think you decided you wanted a piece of candy just then, but you couldn't talk, so instead of asking for candy you just cried because you didn't have any candy."

Strangely, that seemed to make complete sense to him.
