Vacation Week

Sunday, May 18, 2008

That was nice. A week off! Aside from a cold my son and I got, it was super relaxing and productive. Even though it rained a lot and peaked out at 60 degrees, I got rid of 2/3 of my unwanted crap in our garage sale and made $400 in the process. Yeah commerce!

This is also the first week Holly is here and it's been amazing. Here are this week's top 5 reasons:
- She thinks I'm funny and vise versa; i.e.: lots of laughing.
- She brought accessories: Doocou and Felix are adorable -- perfect cats. Doocou is here for the dog lovers amongst us. Felix is classic cat. They both start purring the minute you touch them.
- She knows how to cook amazing tasting, healthy food. And she buys it in bulk! Is that what those bins are for?
- She makes a perfect pot of coffee. And SHE makes it. Like every day this week. She's also cut my grass and run and emptied my dishwasher countless times. And lets not forget the 20 hours sitting in the cold making my garage sale happen.
- She's smart. Last night during the Graham Norton Show she busts into a monologue about recent PhD readings involving empathizing with other genders and the complications involved or actually the impossibility of that (as Graham fitted a large ungrateful bloke with a heavy pregnancy prosthetic suit). We had both had drinks. Who retains that kind of knowledge post drink and during television?

There's more, but I have to go be the one to make coffee this morning. That's right. This morning at 11 am. Thank you Sage for letting me sleep in and end my vacation on this fun and chilled out note. Life is good!
