Scan tech described them as "breakable but not brittle." I'd like to meet the person that does not have breakable bones . . .
I am in some 80th% percentile. I never liked math anyway. My bones get a B-/C+. They call it Osteopenia. Treatment? Take calcium citrate + vitamin D. Lift Weights. Eat Yogurt. Don't guzzle Starbucks and martinis. Got it.

Yeah, I ignored taking calcium for 12 years (after early meno) because it caused "bathroom issues" for me. So now I'm rewarded with even more osteopenia and two of my scan sites are officially osteoporosis. Yeah, I'm 59, don't fit the body type and STILL!!!
So... the good news is that magic Fossamax (sp?) will help and my sister gave me a different type of calcium to try and HURRAY!!!! No problems. I take three honker gelcaps (that makes them easier to swallow) at night so the caffiene I mainline all day --but not later than 2 p.m. of I won't sleep -- won't leach the calcium back out.
Carlson's Bone Support is the magic elixir. Wished I'd found it 12 years ago! Can find at some store on State Rd. near Chestnut or at Raisin Rack in Canton.
I'm TOTALLY convinced that in 2 years I'll be as dense as ever!!!! (Bone-wise, that is!)
Meanwhile, don't even read the paper that comes with the Fossamax as it will terrify you!!! (Take it first thing in the morning with water. Don't eat or drink ANYTHING for at least 30 min, preferable 2 hrs. And for goodness sakes, DON'T lie back down. Or else!!!
