That almost happened to me once. I was playing Magnus Muldoon in The Real Inspector Hound, and at the line "Care for a spin round the rose garden, Cynthia?", I would lift my wheelchair up onto its back wheels and 360 it. During one of these performances, the wheel went slightly over the edge of the stage. Damn, I was lucky. (That was also the season I accidentally rode my bike head-on into an oncoming car, so it was definitely more luck than skill in self-preservation.)
I remember now why people say they hate to watch live theater. Its the "anything can happen" feeling where you are filled with fear of something dreadful about to ensue. And then there are those who see that being on stage and acting is itself shame-inducing
I have to admit: seeing live plays is thrilling for this reason: in a world of packaged presentations, live bodies and memorized lines is quite unstable. And add to that, those plays that are full of someone else's loss and flaws ....Death of a Salesman of course... but I guess all plays, huh? Oedipus, Shakespeare...
huh. What is with the theater, man??? What is Macbeth except a woman falling off a stage???

Well, aren't you the Renaissance Man! I'm glad you're still with us! :)
