Remember those? Remember how by 9 AM there were not that many decent cartoons left, which was OK because you'd been up since 6:30? Well now I get to re-live it all.
There are some notable differences though. The biggest one being Cable TV and the proliferation of children's shows. So we have two channels to choose from of all day programming for children age 2-5. The biggest difference of all though is NO commercials. I don't know where toy companies advertise anymore. I don't know how kids figure out what kind of toys they "need."
I have fond memories of watching a sparkling Barbie wear something special while doing something even special-er with two gorgeous, giggling nine-year-old girls. Followed immediately by me letting everyone who would listen know that I NEEDED that Barbie.
